First Friday, Last Trail Count

The purpose of today was to record all the data we collected from the trails onto an Excel sheet. It was important to have all of this data on a shareable sheet so that the numbers can easily be interpreted and analyzed. However, I ran into a problem. The counts were supposed to be recorded and replaced every hour. Instead, the ones who counted at the Stephenson trail were not starting and ending at the top of every hour. This would normally not be a problem but the sensors only record its counts at the top of every hour, which means comparing the data will not prove efficient. I was hesitant to even put the data on the Excel sheet because I would have to do more work by providing the separate times. However, this did not stop me from doing my job. I decided to record the data so that CJ and I would have it for later use.  I could have easily stopped and called it a day. I did not want to fix a problem that was not caused by me. People should take responsibility of their own a...

A Well Deserved Break

During the 4th I did about two to three hours of work then I took the rest of the day off. It surprised me that I was able to take time to myself and enjoy my day. Last week, CJ and I did not think that we would be able to take a break. We were under the impression that we had a presentation to give later that week. However, we were told otherwise so that freed up a great deal of time for us. There still may be a presentation to give besides the scheduled date for the internship so this will not be the last time we hear about this topic. I think it will be great to show off our work to many important people of the city of Berea. Furthermore, it does not stop there. Scott wants us to go to Canada to compete with other student's work. This opportunity was huge and can really put us on the map if we were to place in this competition. I would love to see our work take off and attract people who would love to use our work. CJ and I would always be told on how important this project...

What Happens from Here?

A meeting to end all meetings, and of course we would meet in the morning almost 45 minutes before we were supposed to start work. However, this was important as we needed to know where we go from here. The last task CJ and I were assigned was the most tedious task we have had to complete. I am glad to have moved pass this and continue forward with the internship. Now we get the discussion of the paper we will have to write in the near future. Our last week will be spent outlining this paper and we will be writing on different views of the same project.  At first I thought this paper was just to see if we learned anything or if we were actually paying attention the entire time during the internship. However, Scott had made me realize how wrong I was. This paper was not just to push more work our way but to benefit us for our future. The paper CJ and I will write will give us documentation of our work we have completed. Our paper will prove that we are capable of hard work and ...
